Evan by Maisie Leisemann

I am a young artist currently studying at QACI. I have an immense passion for visual art, and in my body of work, I focus on capturing meaningful portraiture. My sitter is also an enthusiastic artist with a love of visual art and theatre. He is at the end of his high schooling and is looking forward to further studies in Brisbane.

My piece ‘Evan’ portrays the frustration of living in a time of profuse exposure to information and the constant news cycle while struggling with dyslexia. It conveys the feeling of suffocating in the overwhelming flow of information.
