About the prize
The Brisbane Portrait Prize celebrates the city of Brisbane/Meeanjin and its people, telling the stories of the courageous, creative and passionate people who make up our city.
It also showcases the best in contemporary portraiture, demonstrating that portraiture still excites the most accomplished of artists.
Any artist with a connection to Brisbane is eligible to enter. The sitter must also have a connection with Brisbane.
In 2025, over $100,000 of prizes and grants will be available

Since 2019, your support has helped grow the prize to receive over 5000 entries and award over $600,000 in prize money.
Donations of all sizes are gratefully received to ensure we can continue running this significant cultural event. Donations of $500 and above will grant you access to our Friends of BPP. To donate, simply scan the QR code to the right.
