Jess by Hannah Burgess

After spending my whole life surrounded by the same people in the same Brisbane suburb, the transition to a new school disorientated me in a way I did not expect. Through Jess’ friendship I have been able to find my feet again. I wanted to paint her the way that I see her: a girl rising through the darkness. Despite the barriers set against neurodivergent people and suffering through struggles that many people do not have to face, Jess has emerged as a true friend to me.
