From My Corner by Lily Faulks

This work is a self-portrait that reflects the concept of self-awareness. In 2019 after being diagnosed with a chronic illness that resulted in extreme fatigue and isolation, I was forced to become introspective. The bubble is symbolic of the disconnect I felt from the world. The portrait is set in my room, a significant space that played a large role in the confrontation and eventual acceptance of my illness. This portrait represents the idea of making peace with one’s situation.
