Waiting at the Station by Rory Feeney

In June of 2021 I took this portrait of my good friend and talented musician Ryan O’Brien, waiting for a train at Fortitude Valley station.
To me, this portrait speaks to the journeys of young artists like Ryan and myself. We’re all waiting for our trains to come, waiting for the breakthrough exhibition, or the gig to propel us towards the next station in our life and career. At some point, everybody has been poised; stationed, in awaiting the next stop.
