Kilroy Was Here

Paul (Zoob) de Zubicarary

About the artwork

Paul de Zubicaray painted Debbie Kilroy to raise awareness of the selfless work she does for others. Of Kilroy, de Zubicaray says that although she has seen sorrow and misfortune, “her face still conveys a gentle sense of empathy with steely determination. This is what I wanted to capture in this portrait. She is a true Brisbane icon.”
