Burn by Emily Harrington Faherty

The artwork ‘Burn’ is a self-portrait of mine, which represents an internal conflict between wanting to ‘Burn’ away the memories of those who have wronged the subject, while still wanting to preserve the cherished memories of those people. As it is a self-portrait, both the sitter and the artist reside in Brisbane and have received their education there, moving to Brisbane at the age of four. From a young age, I have been deeply interested in art, only fully pursuing it since entering secondary school; however, my education has further fueled my interest in art.
