About the artwork and sitter
In 2020, Lilly Luhrmann responded to concerns about the welfare of international students stranded in Australia due to Covid. After researching their circumstances and needs, she worked with the State Government to launch the Study Queensland Luhrmann Appeal.
“Lilly struck me as a warm, and empathetic young woman, who was making a difference to the lives of other young people in difficult times.”
Lilly Luhrmann is the daughter of director, writer and producer Baz Luhrmann and production designer Catherine Martin.
