About the artist
Dr Margaret Van Maanen has for many years painted portraits of friends and family which have become centrepieces at many significant family celebrations. She describes herself as “2019 pastellist of the year” for her portrait of her son Nathaniel and has shown her love of pastels in her painting of Rhonda White O.A. Dr Van Maanen is also a GP who has been in practice since 1981, working on Brisbane’s south side. She devotes her practice exclusively to women’s health, incorporating a natural approach of diet management, supplements and exercise to treat women’s health issues. She has completed a post-graduate diploma in Nutritional and Environment Medicine.
