The Brisbane Portrait Prize is all about celebrating Brisbane portrait artists and their sitters, while encouraging public engagement with the arts.

Enter the Prize
In 2026, all Brisbane Portrait Prize entries are eligible for the $50,000 Lord Mayor’s Award which is supported by Brisbane City Council. A further $41,500 of category prizes are available to win also.
All artists and sitters must have a connection to Brisbane
Visit the Exhibition
The 2026, Finalists Exhibition will be held at slq Gallery at State Library of Queensland
The exhibition showcases the works of finalists from the main competition as well as the finalists of the Next Gen competition.
Entry is free with daily tours offered by the wonderful BPP Volunteer team.
