About the artwork
Kate Dillon is the front woman of Full Flower Moon Band, one of Australia’s most exciting rock bands, recently supporting the Foo Fighters in Launceston for their only Australian stadium show of 2026, and winning The Triffid’s Queensland Album of the Year Award in 2025.
In this portrait, Dillon sits alongside her stage persona Babyshakes, wearing a mask created by Brisbane artist Cael Johnston. Pictured with coffee in hand, casual and contemplative beside her more commanding persona. Artist Brad Collins, a long-time admirer of the band’s visual world, was drawn to Dillon’s ability to step between her quieter self and the performer the world sees on stage. The contrast between the two figures is tender and quietly revelatory. The stage persona and the private person, equally present, equally true.
