The Zebra by Bianca Peng

My brother is a high school student in year 9, and as a neurodivergent young man, his adolescence is full of challenges. Confusion, anxiety, and mental breakdowns seem to appear in his life more often than when he was in primary school. Sometimes, he has to pretend to be someone else to get through his days. Despite all these struggles, my brother never fails to surprise me with his extraordinary talent and mind-blowing ideas. He may appear to be a boring person who only has black-and-white colours, but I can always see his true colours shining through like a gem.

This work aims to depict my admiration and appreciation for my lovely brother. I would also like to raise awareness about being more inclusive of individuals with neurodiversity, because being more inclusive is how we can make our world more colourful and interesting.
