About the artwork

Rosa Mack is a seasoned songwriter, poet and vocalist shedding a vibrant presence in the Brisbane arts scene for over a decade. Front woman of her own 8-piece rock/blues/soul collective, and one sixth of neo-soul band Menajerie, Rosa is known for her powerhouse vocals and deep emotional connection to her artistry. Mack draws influence from artists like Brittany Howard and Nai Palm, having performed numerous sold out shows in Brisbane, and major events including Woodford Folk Festival.

The quick brushstrokes give this painting energy and force. With her eyes closed, this energy coexists with a deep and intriguing intensity. The performer is caught in a silent moment, framed by black with only the occasional highlight alleviating the background, adding a sense of drama.

“Her onstage presence and personal storytelling embody the dynamic balance of confidence and fragility. Deeply attuned to mental health struggles of fellow artists, she weaves together shades of darkness and light in her work, forging an authentic connection and leaving a lasting impression on her audiences.”

She told The Point Music News that her single, When I’m Alone, “…reveals the tension of journeying from the confines of a toxic relationship into the liberating freedom of aloneness.” Her most recent release is called Love you Always.
