Friday Night by Freya Crane

Although I was not born in Australia, Brisbane is where I have been raised. My mother’s family are from Brisbane, and there is a lot of family history here. One of my childhood’s most cherished memories was when my uncle would come over to watch movies with my family. The Gladiator and Avatar are some of my favourite movies. They shaped my morals and what I believe to be wrong and right. Hence my self-portrait is also about what I gained from living in Brisbane close to my family. We shared quality time together which means that growing up surrounded by family had an immense impact on my childhood and the person I have become.
