About the artwork and sitter
The sitter, Lincoln Savage, is a Brisbane-based creative, best known as a Creative Director and Producer in a range of public events. His current projects include the Brisbane Street Art Festival (BSAF) and Yonder Festival.
Through BSAF, Savage has injected personality and culture throughout the city by engaging and supporting local and international artists to paint murals on the streets of Brisbane.
“His work enriches the everyday human experience of the city, emphasising the value of art. The map of Brisbane, as depicted in the artwork’s background, highlights locations where Savage has placed murals as a result of the festival. The artist was engaged by Lincoln for BSAF 2021.”
About the artist
Maxim Chikanchi is a Russian born and trained artist. He graduated from the University of the Arts London. Having moved to Australia six years ago, he is now a proud resident of Brisbane, practising figurative art with collage elements to tell a narrative of his experiences and the world around him.
