About the artist

Gregory Jessup was born in Brisbane where he has lived for most of his life. He spent four years studying art at Southbank Institute of Technology and at QCA, majoring in painting and drawing. Upon graduating, Jessup was selected as a finalist in the Espresso Garage Award exhibition. He won the Decorative and Fine Arts Society of Brisbane (ADFAS) Painting Award for Artistic Merit. In 2012 Jessup  moved to Melbourne to exhibit his artwork and became a teacher. In 2015 he returned to Brisbane to begin working with disadvantaged young people by teaching Art at the Brisbane Youth Detention Centre. Jessup maintains an arts practice at his home studio where he mainly produces portraits and still life paintings.

Described as hilarious, charming and unpredictable Sammy Power is a former radio presenter, socialite, and now Chief Executive of the Jan Powers Farmers Markets in Brisbane. Over the past 20 years, she has worked between stations in Queensland, New South Wales and Western Australia to gain more experience and to broaden her appeal. She also worked in TV. She has won numerous awards. She retired from radio a couple of years ago, and now runs the Markets full time. Sammy recently hit the headlines when, for her 50th birthday, she got married – to herself, in a glittering, star studded event at Noosa.
