About the artwork and sitter
Danny Widdicombe is a Brisbane based folk/country/blues musician with 3 ARIA award nominations (with his band, The Wilson Pickers) and 4 solo albums. He has played lead guitar for Bernard Fanning and Tim Rogers.
Danny and his band The Honey Sliders are known for playing concept shows, based on their favourite albums, including The Beatles’ ‘Abbey Road’, where he met Jason, and they subsequently became friends.
Danny travelled to Berlin after winning the Grant McLennan Memorial Fellowship, before rushing back to Brisbane when his leukaemia relapsed. During the treatment, he recorded some new songs with his friends in the radiation room (the best sounding recording room in the hospital). He also ran a song writing workshop for young adults battling cancer.

Jason is a successful Ipswich based property agent and photographer. His work has been featured in a number of exhibitions around Australia, winning numerous awards.
It aims to peak beneath the surface of his subjects.
‘The lens punctures the obvious and probes beneath to bring to the fore a dynamic of internal dialogue which is at once familiar and uniquely rare.’
He is a previous BPP finalist.
