About the artwork and sitter
Martin Edge lives in Brisbane, and is an artist who consistently reimagines the scenes around him. He is an ambassador for Autism Queensland, an Arts volunteer, and an Arts worker.
Martin loves to collect, he loves company, he loves his studio space, but mostly he loves to paint.
Martin’s scenes are many and varied: “Be they through a window, atop a bluff, beside a pier or just along a busy street, Martin envisages an altogether more huggable cityscape devoid of clutter: but emotionally saturated with a more soothing, joyous, bright and captive space. I’m inspired by his imagination, and wouldn’t it be great if we all chose to see our world in the same playful manner.”
About the artist
Erica Gray regularly exhibits work nationally and internationally, most recently in Solid Gold, the inaugural exhibition at HOTA. She has been a Semi-finalist and finalist in numerous awards, including the Doug Moran National Portrait Prize, The Glencore Percival Portrait Painting Prize and the Hurford Hardwood Portrait Prize.
“Martin loves to collect, he loves company, he loves his studio space, but mostly he loves to paint.”
