“I had met Robert volunteering at the local school and when I learned that he had danced with the Queensland Ballet, I knew I had to photograph him.”

Behind the scenes

I had met Robert volunteering at the local school and when I learned that he had danced with the Queensland Ballet, I knew I had to photograph him.

I searched for a venue and I found the historical Brookfield Hall. Full of lovely warm timber and stories, it had the exact feeling and natural lighting I wanted for this shoot.

Robert and his wife Melissa joined me there and after a wonderful laughter filled session, I had the photos I wanted. Seeing Robert dance in this space was truly amazing. It was a privilege to photograph such an acclaimed dancer and to share this experience with both Robert and Melissa.
