Artist Talk: How will AI influence the future of creativity?

In this session, we will explore the impact of AI on the future of creativity, with a focus on visual art.

With the rapid development of AI tools, artists can now collaborate with machines to create innovative and striking art.The technology offers endless possibilities, from enhancing creative processes to generating entirely new styles. While AI may challenge traditional notions of authorship and originality, it has the potential to redefine artistic boundaries, fostering a new era of creative expression and collaboration between human and artificial intelligence.

What is generative AI & how can artists leverage its power? How do we ensure that challenges around authorship and copyright are addressed? What other AI tools are on the horizon, especially those which could further disrupt the business of creativity? And what ethical considerations does AI raise for artists?

Using Art Prizes to help your career.

There are many Art Prizes in Australia and overseas. Winning one of these competitions can help put an artist on the map. Not only do many major awards offer the winners a significant cash prize – but they provide opportunities to capitalise on the exposure that follows.

But the benefits and exposure that art prizes offer are not only reserved for the winners. A clever artist, whether a finalist or not, can ride the hype that surrounds these prizes and use it to increase their own networks and exposure.

Join us this July as we bring together a panel of people with expertise and experience to discuss how you can best leverage art prizes to help your career.

Copyright for Artists: The Essentials

Copyright is a powerful tool for artists, but one that is often not well understood.

As a visual artist, it can help you monetise your work, and control what happens to it even after you sell it.

Understanding copyright is increasingly important for visual artists, as the digital world is built on reproduction. But what happens if someone uses your work without your permission? What is copyright infringement and how do you deal with it?
