About the sitter

Waylon is an indigenous man who was born and raised in Brisbane. He went to school in Aspley and has a strong connection to Brisbane. He currently works for the Brisbane City Council as a bus driver, transporting the people of Brisbane around the city. Like many young people, Waylon fought hard to find his place within society and now devotes a lot of his personal time helping others to live the best life they can. Waylon is one of the many unknown faces within Brisbane who are the heart and lifeblood of this city. It is the artist’s intention to allow people like Waylon to be recognised as an important and integral part of Brisbane.
